English
Visible on the old postcards is the beauty and splendor of two twin cities - Cracow and Lviv. Their history is interwoven from seven centuries. For ages, the cultural exchanges flourished between the two greatest centers of the Polish culture. There were great theaters and famous colleges. On Cracow and Lviv scenes shined same artists - Wojciech Bogusławski and Helena Modjeska. Gabriela Zapolska wrote a play based on the realities of Lviv, also exhibited in Cracow.

One of the most familiar figures related to the lion's Castle was an excellent Polish comedy writer, Aleksander Fredro, whose compositions appeared in the repertoire of Cracovian theatres. Paintings associated with Lviv of Arthur Grottger were viewed in Cracow, and works by Jan Matejko were admired in Lviv. Both cities could boast its excellent architecture, churches and palaces and until this date impress with its wealth and diversity of style. Today, Cracow and Lviv are divided by the border, but cultural monuments still certify the close union of full magic and the charm of the cities.

Istniały w nich świetne teatry i słynne uczelnie.
